The last day of 2019, another year has gone by the wind. ‘Life goes too fast’ is something that’s sticks in our mind.
That’s why making recaps is something I really love to do, take a moment to see what you have accomplished in 12 months.
This year has been different to all the other years, before I travelled so much and 2019 was the adult year. Full of weddings, engagements and having my own place.
While I am already making my bucket list for 2020, I really like to take you through my memory lane. It’s kind of my baby, and to be honest this year came with a lot of downs but also ups and writing this article makes me proud that I can achieve these things on the age of 26. It gives me even more energy and motivation to do more in the new year.
With love, Kiki.
JANUARY
NEW JOB
When I was 11 years old, my mom took me with her to the clothing store where she helped out one of her best friends during the season of the communions. From there on I have lost my heart to fashion.
During the years I build my knowledge and set goals for myself, 2019 was the time I needed to make another step, change my game, mostly for financial reason but only so I can achieve my goals.
I am now working at Fabrik Agency, Antwerp as a sales representative, but of course in combination with the things I love to do most, writing and styling!
MARCH
FLAIR MAGAZINE: INTERVIEW 2 PAGES
This was a dream to me, and one of the biggest compliments I have received. To get the chance to tell the world who I am, for what I stand and to share experiences and how lucky I am to know people around the world.
Only 25 years old and a two pages interview, not to bad!
APRIL
TRAVELING TO SPAIN FOR A WEDDING
Meet these incredible, beautiful girls. My international friends from Spain and Sweden.
I met these girls in 2013, during their Erasmus period in Amsterdam. Since then we are trying to stay in touch and fly over once a year to meet.
In April I got the honor to be a part of the magical wedding of Rosita and her husband Salva. I can tell you one thing… I just love Spanish weddings.
MOVING TO MY OWN PLACE IN ANTWERP
I moved to Antwerp, my first own appartement. It may be late, on an age of 25 but I wouldn’t change it for the world. The years before I have done most of the things that I wanted to do. My mom is my best friend and she raised me well, because I am in love with my own place.
MAY
PORTUGAL CASA LUUM
My first time in Portugal, if we don’t count my city trip to Porto a couple of years ago. A get away with Team Fabrik for a couple of days. Or let me say — work mode underneath a hot sun.
JUNE

SECRET MISSION : ENGAGEMENT OF MY BEST FRIENDS
First of all, this was one of the biggest and hardest secrets to ever keep. Let alone the idea how to compensate this surprise. I am the Best Girl on Kim her wedding which means I have full control over the bachelorette party.
The story behind this photo: Kaj wanted to surprise Kim with a photoshoot with Irmy and me as stylist. She was going on for this, for well a while. So this was the pérfect cover up to ask her a very important and beautiful question…
GUEST BLOG: BOX OF STYLE
I can die in peace now. This is only the beginning because when this happend, my inner warrior is more awake then ever.
Rachel Zoe, the biggest icon — created Box Of Style. She has an amazing team, and they asked me if I would like to collaborate on a guest blog on my website. Do you even need to ask?
SEPTEMBER
FULL PAGE IN GAZET VAN ANTWERPEN: NEWSPAPER
When I thought I could be proud of myself with my publication in Flair, I received another e-mail. The ‘GVA’ is one of the biggest newspapers in Belgium, two times a year they publish an extra magazine called ‘CittA modespecial’.
For those magazines they interview a ‘Famous Kempenaar’ and asked them to share their five favorite places.
You can imagine that I am beyond honored to fill in that place, I work in restaurants, bars for over 10 years and I will never say no to food.
What makes it even more special my predecessor was the singer Belle Perez. What?!
OCTOBER
WEDDING OF MICHAEL x MARTIJN
My precious, crazy friend found the love of his life, and it was magical to be a part of this.
Funny side of the evening, the moment the ladies fall in line to get a glimpse of the bouquet, I really didn’t want to enter it, so I was somewhere far in the back.
So as you can see, the bouquet picked me, not the other way around!
Notice: the face of one of my best friends in the left corner of the photo… says it all.
WHAT A YEAR… HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!
