Côte d’Azur XS Travel Guide

Côte d’Azur XS Travel Guide

A XS travel guide, what I’m a talking about? Last week I went for a short holiday to the Côte d’Azur with my mom (quality time is important!).
What better place to go to then this little heaven on earth? As a kid we came here every year. But as I’m getting older I want to travel to as many different destinations but coming back to this place made me remind why I love this place so much and I why I want to come back.

Why I call it a XS travel guide is because you haven’t seen everything in such a short period but I have great tips, for how to spend your 5 days well, also in the off season!
Little reminder we all know that this place isn’t the most budget friendly place but sometimes you need to just enjoy life plus of course I added some “budget friendly” places to my guide.

STAYING

Staying in Saint Tropez is magical and if you saved money or you don’t care about prices when on a holiday, you should book your hotel there! I found a lovely hotel that is worth staying: Hôtel La Tartane Saint Amour
For a more budget friendly staying you can stay right outside Saint Tropez. We stayed in Cogolin, a small picturesque Provençal village. The best thing about this is place is that you are so close to everything, in less then 20 minutes you are in Saint-Tropez, Saint Maxime, Ramatuelle, Grimaud, … places that are all worth the visit!

We stayed in Coq Hotel, I can say that I find the owner of this hotel a real bad ass by calling his hotel like that, hi oops!
This hotel is typical France and is perfect if you just need a place to sleep.
The photo above is from a small boulangerie around the corner of the hotel, easy to eat a pain au chocolat or croissant with a coffee before you go further away.

BREAKFAST

For all the fashion lovers, you need to see this. The one and only Dior has his beautiful place, one street down by the haven.
I mean, the view of this building is already beautiful, pay attention to all the silhouettes in the windows. The better part… they have a restaurant.

For breakfast you pay +/- €100 per person but like I said sometimes you gotta live.

PLACE DES LICES MARKET

This famous French market is fantastic, they have a huge range of food including breads, cheeses, pastries, herbs, fruits, olives, flowers. Locals head early to the market to secure to have the freshest produce.

It’s also perfect for souvenir hunting, talking good quality (non plastic) home accessoires, clothing, vintages, art for good prices!

  • Saint Tropez: Thurdays – 10:00 – 13:00 & 14:00 – 18:00
  • Ramatuelle: Thursdays & Sundays – Place de l’Ormeau
  • Cogolin: Wednesdays & Saturdays – Place Victor Hugo
  • La Croix-Valmer: Sundays
  • Cavalaire-sur-mer: Wednesdays – Place Jean Moulin
  • Sainte-Maxime: Thursdays – Place du Marché

HOTSPOT

The White Hotel is a beautiful place and of course I know what you all think, perfect for your Instagram feed. Also a good place to sleep but even perfect to drink something at the bar!

Open from 12 may until 8 october 2017

Café Milano

A cozy restaurant that is filled with people every night. For the pizza lovers, it’s a thing!
P.S. wine lovers, order per bottle. (That sounds so wrong, but it’s more budget friendly).

Barbarac is the place to be to have a good ice cream, yum!

FIND ME WHERE THE BEACH IS

Last but not least people, the French Riviera, a beautiful beach with a clean blue sea.
My favorite place is Tiki Beach, a lovely beach bar with amazing food and an amazing view to get your tan!
Make sure you go for a beach walk. Starstruck? Make a pitstop at Nikki Beach, who knows you will spot Paris Hilton or other celebrities.

Staying close to the beach with your friends? Have dinner at Zanzi Bar, ending with a drink in the Pirate bar. Promise to be a good night!

Like other times, let me know if you’re going! I would love to know if my tips are useful.
