6 Tips To Manage Your Time Better

TAKE A DEEP BREATH, THERE IS ALWAYS SPACE FOR GROW

Sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day. Depending on how you cope with it, time management, isn’t a matter of course.

For some of us time management comes naturally, but there are enough people who are struggling with this issue, that’ll including me.
Starting my own business a couple of years ago, as a stylist and blogger, was a big step —  that you’re in need of a time guide.

Holding myself to these rules, made it easier for me to combine the two things I love to do most.

Since this year I added a 3rd full time job to it, and to be honest, it hasn’t been easy to combining all of them, giving it all my full attention.

That’s when I grabbed back to my ‘rules’ so I can be productive and do all the things I love, meanwhile enjoying life.
These feelings sound familiar? There may be more useful tips but these 6 tips will take you already in the right direction to spend your days more efficient.

1. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN
Being your own boss also stands for having a lot of going on in your mind. You have your ‘to do-list’ as standard plus your creative mind likes to keep going strong. Write everything down and take one day a week, to organize these notes.

2. WAKE UP AT THE SAME TIME EVERYDAY
Waking up at the same time everyday makes it easier to stay on schedule. Continue doing this during holidays and weekends too, this way you allow yourself to enjoy your deserved free time, without working overtime in mind. (yes, this happens). Sorry sleep-lovers, but you may find inspiration in this post about morning routines to make it easier.

3. RECORD HOW LONG EACH TASK TAKES
This is very useful, especially in the beginning when you want to change your routine, sometimes you misjudge on how long you spend time on one task.
I used to set alarms (and I still do, even in personal life). The first alarm works as warning that I almost spend my time for task #1, the second one is the alarm that means I need to move forward to the next task. Not done? Write all these things down so you can create yourself a weekly schedule, that is achievable.

4. DON’T MULTITASK
That brings us to the next tip. Don’t multitask — you will start doing tasks half-way, that’ll become a mess which brings you to problem number one — having problems with time management. Start with the most important things and check off every task one by one.

5. WORK WITH A CALENDAR, AGENDA OR SEEK NEW MEDIA
Personally I like to work with an agenda, I mix my work-and personal agenda, this way I can divide my time better and I make sure I remember myself on daily basis to deadlines and appointments. I am kind of old school and I know that a lot of people work digital, so for those, try to keep yourself up to date with the latest new apps that can help you to work more efficient.

6. PLAN YOUR DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE
Ladies, don’t take it personally. We do hesitate sometimes in the mornings, not knowing what to wear or other little things.
Planning your day the night before, gives you more time in the morning to go through your routine and to start working on time.
